Campaign Introduction

My Book Shop team and I were faced with the challenge of making the hotel chain La Quinta a desired travel destination and a pet-friendly brand. Since La Quinta allows pets at their hotels, we started brainstorming insights about how people feel incomplete without their pets. We deduced that when people and their pets are separated, both parties suffer from anxiety. So, what better way to market La Quinta than by focusing on the fact that they have pet-friendly rooms, and at La Quinta you can “Stay. Together.” – which became our tagline. With the headline “A weekend away is your dog’s end of the world,” we highlighted how your pets feel when you leave them behind for a weekend trip. All of our headlines and executions contribute to our concept that both pets and their owners have separation anxiety when apart.

It was gratifying creating copy that played into pets and their owners’ separation anxiety and showed how La Quinta solved the problem of having to be separated from your pet when you travel – at La Quinta, you don’t have to.
